Abstract Series, No 101

9" x 9" mixed media, acrylic and silver leaf on 300 lb Arches paper.

This abstract series started in spring of 2007 and was inspired by a brief encounter with artist, Jimmie James on the sidewalks of New York City. I started only with the idea to work with yellow and a square format. This series continued to evolve, one idea lead to several more ideas. I worked over an 8 month period, the first 24 in New York, and the rest, back in my studio on San Juan Island, in Washington State. The series starts back chronologically in the Blog Feb.
